About The Position

MCC is hiring a Slitter Machine Operator to inspect print and seam quality, remove defective material, splice roll web according to specifications, and handle and palletize rolls without damaging them. The operator records information on designated paperwork and in the company’s Globetek operating system and may participate in special projects or perform other assigned duties. Previous experience is not required, though it is a bonus.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions.
• Ability to perform calculations using American units of money and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet the stated physical and vision demands, including frequent walking.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Slitter Machine Operator; experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously check print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together according to specifications.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing, and use tools at other times as necessary.
• Handle and palletize rolls in a way that avoids damage.
• Understand basic printing and seam-related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the company operating system, Globetek.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
