About The Position

MCC is seeking a Slitter Operator to operate a Slitter/Rewinder, handling rolls of material and positioning them according to job specifications. The operator checks print and seam quality, removes defective material, and splices the web back together as specified. The role also involves handling and palletizing rolls, recording production information on paperwork and in the Radius/Globetek company operating system, and supporting special projects and other assigned duties. Experience is not required, though it is considered a bonus.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic using American money and units of weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Slitter Operator or in related work; experience is not required but is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Slitter/Rewinder and run rolls of material, positioning them as specified.
• Continuously check print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together according to specifications.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing procedures, and at other times as needed.
• Handle and palletize rolls to avoid damaging them.
• Understand basic printing- and seam-related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the Radius/Globetek company operating system.
