About The Position

MCC is seeking a Slitter Machine Operator to join its team. Experience is not required, though it is a bonus. The operator checks print and seam quality, removes defective material, splices roll web according to specifications, handles and palletizes rolls, records production data, and performs other assigned duties. The position involves use of a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch, along with company paperwork and the Globetek operating system.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic using units of American money and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet the position’s stated physical demands and vision requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Slitter Machine Operator; experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously check print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together according to specifications.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing, and at other times as necessary.
• Handle and palletize rolls without causing damage.
• Understand basic printing and seam-related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the company operation system (Globetek).
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
