About The Position

A leading food manufacturing company in Portland, TN is seeking dependable and detail-oriented individuals for a 1st Shift Slicing Operator position. This role is responsible for operating slicing equipment, inspecting products for quality, and preparing finished meat products for packaging. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, quality-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Frequent use of hands and repetitive motions.
Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform physical production tasks.
Comfortable working in refrigerated and food manufacturing environments.
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

Previous manufacturing, food production, machine operation, or slicing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial slicing equipment according to production specifications.
Slice meat products to required thickness and weight standards.
Monitor product quality and appearance throughout the production process.
Inspect products for defects and remove items that do not meet quality standards.
Maintain production goals while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Assist with packaging, labeling, and product handling as needed.
Follow all food safety, USDA, HACCP, GMP, and company quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues to supervisors.
Perform additional production duties as assigned.
