This role is responsible for learning how to maintain sharp tools to perform job tasks correctly. The individual will be responsible for making precision cuts to open the hide on the right side, remove the hide from the rump, and skin the sides of the sow to achieve desired carcass yield. This position also involves operating a powered tool to perform job tasks. The average training time may require 2-3 months. The role requires adherence to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies. Responsibilities include setting up the work area with all needed equipment, monitoring the production area for trash and food debris on the floor, and performing various other tasks as assigned by Lead person, Supervisor or Superintendent. The job may occasionally require lifting/carrying up to 50lbs. The successful candidate must be willing and able to complete work cycles in less than 20 seconds and work on and around machinery and chemicals. Cleaning the work area at the end of the production shift, including sweeping and spraying work areas, is also required. The role involves performing tasks for periods up to 12 hours on a concrete floor, which may include standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting. The position requires working in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of 8 hours and in a wet environment.
