Skate Instructor - SEAPARC Community Recreation
About The Position
This position is responsible for planning and teaching skate lessons, supervising public skates and teaching various on-ice programs. The role involves establishing a friendly, safe atmosphere for all visitors to the recreation center and maintaining good customer service. The instructor will create and implement lesson plans and program schedules, instructing children and adults of all ages and abilities to skate and play hockey. The position requires working cohesively with other instructors in group settings, maintaining safe work practices, and following all policies, procedures, and standards of the CRD. Additional duties as required are also part of the role.
Requirements
- Recreational Skate Instructor Course
- Some directly related experience
- Acceptable criminal record check
- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
- Ability to teach hockey and/or skating to children and adults
- Strong, confident skating and/or hockey skills
- Enjoy working with children and/or adults
- Ability to establish rapport with children
- Ability to adapt to skill level of group
