About The Position

Responsible for assisting the Safety Managers in all job-site office related safety matters. Responsible for safety functions necessary to support Mastec Renewables at an assigned jobsite. Conduct site safety orientation, basic safety trainings, job safety analysis, workplace audits and incident responses as needed. This position is a traveling position throughout the US.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
One year of construction experience preferred
Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have knowledge of hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills, and written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles

Responsibilities

Coordinate and present safety training to support assigned job site and client requirements, including planning, documentation, and presentation of safety training
Provide Safety Leadership creating enthusiasm and participation among management and craft workers, resulting in excellent safety performance
May assist with inputting and reviewing incident reports, including injury management as needed for work related injuries
Assist in the execution of the jobsite safety plans
Participate and promote the R4 committee and program
Review, study, and support corporate policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on a regular basis
Gain exposure to and an understanding of the lockout/tagout procedures in a safe manner
Communicate with management regarding safety matters
Ensure safety documentation is complete and accurate as required by Company and regulations
Ensure Video Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Internal Traffic Control Plan (ITCPs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), field audits, daily equipment inspections, SOPs and safety meetings are being conducted and entered into appropriate systems for tracking
Develop and administer recognition systems with Safety Managers to promote safe and healthful work performance, i.e. “Good Catch”
Ensure sufficient supply of suitable inventory of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment
Work with the Site Safety Lead to order more safety supplies as needed
May assist with pulling safety report information and putting together safety report detail documents for Safety Managers
Complete drug screen collections as needed
Understand and implement the site-specific emergency response plan
Maintain an adequate driving record and demonstrate the ability to maneuver vehicles safely on a construction site
Spend 80% of the time in the field with the crews
Other duties as assigned
