About The Position

The Shop Operator performs a range of functions across several departments, including grinding, inspecting, painting, and marking parts. When needed, the operator may also assist with pulling orders and boxing parts in the warehouse. The role requires following safety rules, using proper safety equipment, and helping maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of general warehouse-related experience.
• Ability to cross-train in different warehouse areas and assist where needed.
• Excellent work ethic; ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player.
• Strictly observe all safety rules.
• Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing 10–50 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing more than 100 pounds using proper lifting equipment.
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit and climb or balance.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Experience in a manufacturing or shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grinding parts using a hand grinder.
• Assist with checking parts in the Inspection department.
• Assist with marking and painting parts.
• Assist with pulling orders.
• Assist with boxing parts in the warehouse.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
• Wear proper safety equipment at all times.
• Perform other duties as requested by the respective supervisor and/or manager.
