About The Position

The Shop Operator 1 performs a range of functions across different departments, including grinding, inspecting, painting, and marking parts. When needed, the operator may also help pull orders and box parts in the warehouse. The role includes maintaining a safe and clean work environment, using appropriate safety equipment, and carrying out other duties assigned by a supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of general warehouse-related experience.
• Ability to cross-train in different warehouse areas and assist where needed.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player.
• Strictly observe all safety rules.
• Pass a background check and drug test.
• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing 10–50 lbs.
• Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing more than 100 lbs. using proper lifting equipment.
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
• Have close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

• Experience in a manufacturing or shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grinding using a hand grinder.
• Assist with checking parts in the Inspection department.
• Assist with marking and painting parts.
• Assist with pulling orders.
• Assist with boxing parts in the warehouse.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
• Wear proper safety equipment at all times.
• Perform other duties as requested by the respective supervisor and/or manager.
