About The Position

The Shop Operator 1 performs a variety of tasks across several departments in a manufacturing and shop environment. Duties may include grinding, inspecting, painting, and marking parts, as well as assisting with warehouse order pulling and boxing when needed. The role also involves maintaining a safe and clean work environment and following safety procedures.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of general warehouse-related experience.
• Ability to cross-train in different warehouse areas and assist where needed.
• Excellent work ethic and ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player.
• Strictly observe all safety rules.
• Pass a background check and drug test.
• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing 10–50 lbs.
• Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing more than 100 lbs. using proper lifting equipment.
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit and climb or balance.
• Have close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and the ability to adjust and focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grinding parts using a hand grinder.
• Assist with checking parts in the Inspection department.
• Assist with marking and painting parts.
• Assist with pulling orders.
• Assist with boxing parts in the warehouse.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
• Wear proper safety equipment at all times.
• Perform other duties as requested by the respective supervisor and/or manager.
