About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and support its crew. Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided in shop management, oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services. Managers may earn up to $55,000 or more per year through base salary and bonus opportunities. The role offers a path to increased responsibility, with managers expected to oversee their team’s execution of Take 5 standards within 60 days.

The manager is responsible for staffing and training the crew, scheduling, payroll submission, inventory, shop financials, employee evaluations, customer service, and helping perform automotive services as needed. The work requires physical activity, including working in a shallow pit and in hot or cold weather, and may involve early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.

Requirements

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
• Willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
• Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
• Basic computer operating skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
• Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
• Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
• Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
• Understand the shop’s financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
• Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
• Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure the team executes Take 5 standards for oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services.
