About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a driven, people-oriented Shop Manager to lead a shop location. Experience is valued but not required; paid training covers the Take 5 approach to managing a shop, changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and performing other light maintenance. Within less than 60 days, the manager will be accountable for the crew’s execution of Take 5 standards. The role offers annual compensation of $43,800–$72,200, with base pay varying by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience; supplemental pay may include commissions or bonuses.

Managers oversee recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, payroll, inventory, shop financials, employee evaluations, customer service, and crew support. The position also involves performing automotive services as needed. Managers must be able to work in varying weather, handle physical shop duties, and work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
• Must be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
• Must have basic computer operating skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
• Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
• Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
• Place product orders and physically restock inventory as needed.
• Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
• Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
• Support crew members with oil changes and other auto services.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service.
