About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is seeking a Shop Manager to lead a shop team and oversee daily operations. Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided on managing a shop, changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and performing other light maintenance services. The role is accountable for ensuring the team follows Take 5 standards, with responsibility expanding within the first 60 days. Experienced Shop Managers may earn $55,000 or more per year through base salary and bonus opportunities. The posting also invites candidates without experience to ask about Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training opportunities.
Requirements
- Basic computer operating skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in hot or cold weather conditions when necessary.
Nice To Haves
- Prior management or leadership experience is valued but not required; experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other businesses is relevant.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as needed.
- Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with oil changes and other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure the team executes Take 5 standards for oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacements, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services.
