About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and its crew. Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided on managing a shop, changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and performing other light maintenance services. Managers are expected to take accountability for their team's execution of Take 5 standards within 60 days. Experienced managers may earn $55,000 or more through base salary and bonus opportunities. The role may also be an entry point for candidates interested in Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training opportunities. The position involves recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, payroll, inventory, ordering, financial management, employee evaluations, customer service, and assisting with or performing automotive services. Managers must be able to meet the physical demands of shop work, have reliable transportation, and be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
Requirements
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
- Be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Have reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Have basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience managing a shop or leading teams in oil change shops, restaurants, retail stores, or other businesses is valued but not required.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
- Understand the shop's financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure the team follows Take 5 standards for oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services.
