About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and its crew. Experience is valued but not required; the company provides paid training in its management approach, oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacement, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services. Within less than 60 days, the manager will be accountable for the team’s execution of Take 5 standards. The role combines team leadership, shop operations, inventory and financial oversight, customer service, and hands-on automotive service work. Experienced managers can earn $55,000 or more per year through base salary and bonus opportunities; the posting also describes earnings of up to $55,000+ per year.
Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
- Willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in management or leadership is valued but not required; experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail stores, or other businesses may be relevant.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
- Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure the team executes Take 5 standards for oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacement, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services.
