About The Position
Crown Technical Systems, a Flex Company, designs customized power distribution and protection systems, including relay and control panels, medium-voltage switchgear, and enclosures. The Shop Helper assists with preparing, grinding, sanding, and cleaning sheet metal and steel, and supports machine operators and welders in fabricating materials. The position is based in Fontana, California, and reports to the Production Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a related capacity.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately.
- Basic math skills to meet technical specifications and measurements.
- Basic understanding of tools such as a tape measure, impact drill, and sander.
- Ability to operate powered equipment, including a forklift.
Responsibilities
- Cut material in preparation for fabrication or processing.
- Remove excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand scrapers, power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
- Assist press brake, punch press, and laser machine operators with loading and unloading items.
- Assist welders with structural welds by holding materials in place.
- Transfer raw materials, finished products, tools, or equipment between production-floor work areas using powered equipment such as forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
