About The Position

The Shop Foreman supervises production operators who weld, shear, bend, and load rebar to customer specifications. The role sets production requirements based on customer needs and maintains the productive flow of material throughout the shop. It also supports employee development, hiring and onboarding, production reporting, inventory checks, and shop safety. The position works the swing shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Steel fabrication experience is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 years of experience managing a shop is preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production operators as they weld, shear, bend, and load rebar to customer specifications.
• Coach and counsel shop employees on employee relations issues and development opportunities.
• Set production requirements based on customer needs and ensure the productive flow of material throughout the shop.
• Ensure stock materials received from the loader are inspected for uniformity and for inventory tags, including partial tags on open bundles.
• Direct and ensure completion of production reports.
• Support interview processes and coordinate training for new shop employees.
• Partner with the Safety Manager to support safety meetings and ensure ongoing safety training for shop employees.
