About The Position

The Shipping Specialist performs the receipt of incoming goods and shipment of finished goods in compliance with established procedures. The role checks in drivers, verifies shipping documents and seals, tags product, schedules appointments, and maintains shipping and receiving documentation. The position requires related logistics or distribution experience, the ability to use warehouse and office software, and the physical ability to occasionally move loads weighing up to 50 pounds with handling equipment. Work takes place in production facilities that may be expansive, noisy, and vary in temperature.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of related work experience in logistics or distribution.
• Read, write, and speak English.
• Communicate and take direction from a direct supervisor and/or warehouse supervisor.
• Apply common-sense understanding to detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Calculate numbers and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Use a WMS, SAP, and basic Windows applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Meet the physical demands of the role, including occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds with a hoist, pallet jack, or cart.
• Have the vision abilities required for close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.

Nice To Haves

• Food manufacturing or distribution experience is ideal.
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
