About The Position

The Shipping & Transportation Coordinator oversees the plant-level distribution process to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery of inventory and finished goods. The role works closely with production and sales teams to coordinate outbound shipments and ensure orders are delivered accurately and on time to customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in an administrative support role in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with different teams.
• Knowledge of office procedures and systems, such as file management, record keeping, and form design.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Process bills of lading, shipping documents, freight bills, and other paperwork to document shipments correctly.
• Keep the shipping office stocked and organized, ordering supplies as needed for daily operations.
• Develop and organize shipping routes to optimize delivery times and reduce costs.
• Coordinate outbound shipments with sales and production personnel to support timely, cost-effective deliveries.
• Communicate with shippers, carriers, and customers to expedite deliveries, resolve issues, and maintain business relationships.
• Coordinate with production and sales teams on delivery schedules and inventory requirements.
• Monitor and report on shipping department productivity, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.
• Provide leadership and support by stepping in as Traffic Manager or Shipping Supervisor when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support shipping and transportation operations.
