About The Position

AMI Metals, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance, Inc., supplies aircraft-quality raw material products to the aerospace industry. The Shipping Coordinator manages administrative and logistical details for outbound shipments handled by outside carriers, freight forwarders, and the internal fleet. The role coordinates domestic and international shipments, supports accurate and timely delivery, and maintains compliance with ITAR and other governmental regulations.

The position also handles shipping documentation, carrier and freight-service selection, customer shipping issues, freight claims, and shipping-supply inventory. Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Solid math skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of UPS and FedEx software.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of ITAR and government regulations.
• Experience tracking international shipments.
• Forklift/side-loader certification.
• One to two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage administrative and logistical details for outbound shipments handled by outside carriers and the internal fleet.
• Manage logistics for domestic and international export shipments using outside carriers and freight forwarders.
• Obtain freight and freight-forwarding quotes and select vendors.
• Coordinate shipments with internal and external contacts.
• Investigate and resolve customer issues related to shipping or paperwork.
• Examine, prepare, and administer documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements.
• Ensure shipment and packaging accuracy and integrity to support timely deliveries.
• Maintain compliance with ITAR and other governmental regulations.
• Ship materials using FedEx and UPS.
• File freight claims for damaged goods, track them weekly, and resolve disputes.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
