About The Position

The Shipping Associate ensures the accuracy and integrity of products shipped to customers. The role operates weighing and counting scales, wrapping and banding equipment, and material-handling equipment, including a forklift. It packs products, processes UPS packages and basic computer data entry, coordinates with outside carriers and the Sales Department, prepares shipping documentation, and verifies products, quantities, labels, and packaging for safe transportation.

Requirements

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Language skills, mathematical skills, and reasoning ability.
Forklift qualification or ability to operate a forklift; the posting lists Forklift under certificates, licenses, and registrations.
Weekend availability.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the essential functions, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Operate weighing and counting scales, wrapping equipment, and banding equipment.
Pack standard and special products with minimal instructions.
Process UPS packages and perform basic computer data entry.
Call outside carriers.
Prepare bills of lading and shipping logs, and file paperwork.
Communicate with the Sales Department.
Operate material-handling equipment and use a forklift to load and unload trucks.
Check products against shipping orders to verify quantity and identification.
Check packing and crating requirements to ensure safe transportation.
Run and apply labels with customer names, destinations, handling instructions, and other required information.
Requisition shipping supplies.
Perform other duties as required and assigned.
