We are seeking an experienced Shipping/Receiving Lead to manage our warehouse supporting our Roseville, MN location. This individual will manage a team of shipping clerks and material handlers in a fast paced metal manufacturing environment. If you enjoy a hands on supervising role and managing an experienced shipping team, this may be a great position for you. This role is a 1st shift position with hours varying from 5am-4pm Monday-Friday.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 2+ years of shipping knowledge and laws
  • Knowledge of available vendors and the ability to save the company money
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly in person and by phone

Responsibilities

  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Verifies records and packing slips on incoming and outgoing shipments, and overseeing preparing items for shipment.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products by use of pallet jacks, two wheel carts or industrial fork lift trucks.
  • Creates POs for outside services; receives product; partners with vendors and purchasing for hot jobs.
  • Performs manufacturing receipts, job analysis, and works to repair material or labor errors. Any extreme situations are discussed with the appropriate management otherwise adjusted using Expedites jobs as necessary.
  • Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits.
  • Analyzes shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, packing slips, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
  • Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products to meet production schedules.
