About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Lead oversees the daily flow of inbound and outbound materials at our facility. This position is responsible for leading the shipping and receiving team, ensuring accurate inventory transactions, coordinating freight shipments, and maintaining a safe, organized warehouse. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
  • Ability to read shipping documents, purchase orders, and bills of lading.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in truck accessory, automotive, or metal fabrication manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of LTL and full truckload shipping procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the daily activities of the shipping and receiving department.
  • Coordinate incoming materials, verify deliveries, and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Schedule and prepare outbound shipments, ensuring products are packaged correctly and shipped on time.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and customer service to prioritize shipments and material availability.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Train, coach, and develop warehouse personnel while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Monitor shipping documentation, bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier paperwork for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and warehouse best practices.
  • Organize warehouse storage areas to maximize efficiency and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory discrepancy investigations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, productivity, and shipping accuracy.
