About The Position

Jarvis Cutting Tools is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping and Packing Associate to prepare, package, and process customer orders. The role involves inspecting products, selecting appropriate packaging materials, confirming order accuracy, and generating shipping labels. Jarvis Cutting Tools is a 125-year-old, fifth-generation family business founded in 1901, managed and owned by the fourth and fifth generations of the Jarvis family. The company sells directly to users and serves customers throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is preferred; high school or equivalent is required.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend, and to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted throughout the shift.
Basic computer proficiency and experience using handheld barcode scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
High accuracy and attention to detail to minimize mispacks, returns, and shipping errors.
Punctuality and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to commute to Rochester, NH 03868 is required.

Responsibilities

Read order slips, pick lists, or digital scanner prompts and select the correct items from inventory.
Inspect products for damage, defects, or missing pieces before packaging.
Choose appropriate boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, or dunnage to protect items during transit.
Apply accurate shipping labels, record tracking information, and generate packing slips or bills of lading.
Maintain a clean, hazard-free packing station, follow OSHA safety rules, and monitor packing supply stock.
Move packed boxes to designated shipping zones, build pallets, or assist with carrier loading.
