About The Position

Jarvis Cutting Tools is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping and Packing Associate to prepare, package, and process customer orders. The role includes inspecting products for damage, selecting appropriate packaging materials, ensuring order accuracy, and generating shipping labels. The company is a fifth-generation family business founded in 1901 that sells directly to customers throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred; the education section also lists high school or equivalent as required.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds unassisted throughout the shift.
Basic computer proficiency and experience using handheld barcode scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
High accuracy and attention to detail to minimize mispacks, returns, and shipping errors.
Punctuality and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to commute to Rochester, NH 03868.

Responsibilities

Read order slips, pick lists, or digital scanner prompts to select the correct items from inventory.
Inspect products for damage, defects, or missing pieces before packaging.
Select appropriate boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, or dunnage to secure items and prevent transit damage.
Apply accurate shipping labels, record tracking information, and generate packing slips or bills of lading.
Maintain a clean, hazard-free packing station, follow OSHA safety rules, and monitor packing supply stock.
Move packed boxes to designated shipping zones, build pallets, or assist with carrier loading.
