About The Position

The Shift Leader supports the management team in running an assigned Jersey Mike’s location. The role leads crew members and helps ensure high-quality food, exceptional customer service, adherence to company policies and procedures, cleanliness, and a positive Jersey Mike’s experience. The Shift Leader is expected to lead by example, communicate issues to management, and contribute to team development and restaurant sales.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years old to operate the slicer.
Food Handler certification through ServSafe.
Reliable transportation and ability to get to and from work.
Ability to move or transport up to 50 pounds without assistance, subject to the stated accommodation provisions.
Ability to work 38–40 hours per week.
Ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency.
Accountability and integrity.

Nice To Haves

One year of quick-service restaurant (QSR) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Coach staff to deliver excellent customer service and create an exceptional customer experience.
Produce food that meets Jersey Mike’s quality standards and prepare bread and other items.
Deliver the Jersey Mike’s experience and maintain a sense of urgency in a fast-paced team environment.
Handle cash.
Follow the Learning Management System Training Program.
Develop other team members for career growth.
Enforce policies and procedures.
Participate in local and national marketing initiatives and help build sales.
Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation, keeping the restaurant noticeably clean.
Become certified in all four restaurant positions.
Communicate effectively and inform the GM, AGM, or DM of issues.
Lead by example in food quality, customer interactions, and wearing a clean, fitted, pressed uniform.
Serve as a key holder and perform store opening and closing tasks.
Manage and lead a crew of 2 to 5 people.
Slice products proficiently.
