About The Position

Shift Leaders are hired and trained to support Store Leadership in regular daily store operations. The role helps increase wine and spirit sales by providing personalized service to Guests and Team Members. Shift Leaders serve as Manager on Duty, oversee store operations, support the store leadership team, and help ensure a welcoming, safe, clean, and well-organized store. The position includes customer service, point-of-sale and cash-handling duties, product knowledge and training, merchandising and inventory activities, and receiving deliveries. The role requires regular, predictable onsite attendance and remaining onsite for the duration of scheduled shifts. The work involves extended periods of standing and moving, frequent handling and movement of products, occasional ladder use and overhead lifting, and periodic exposure to outdoor weather, cleaning supplies, and refrigerated areas. Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as business needs demand.
At least 6 months of proven experience and/or training in a management or leadership role; or at least 1 year of college or technical-school education in Business Management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Maintain regular and predictable onsite attendance and remain onsite for the duration of scheduled shifts.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing and moving for extended periods, bending, lifting, twisting, moving products weighing up to 40 pounds, occasional overhead lifting, and occasional ladder or step-stool use.
Ability to perform the stated vision-related tasks, including inspecting product labels, signage, and displays and responding to visual cues.

Responsibilities

Serve as Manager on Duty; open and close the store; and assist the Store Leader and Assistant Leader in overseeing store operations.
Greet every Guest and provide friendly, prompt, courteous service that creates a fun and welcoming shopping experience.
Operate the Point-of-Sale terminal, process transactions, handle cash and other tenders accurately, apply coupons and discounts according to company procedures, and complete opening and closing functions, including reconciliation.
Keep current with required training, company policies, and product knowledge to support compliance and provide an informed Guest experience.
Develop comprehensive knowledge of the Sourced and Certified product portfolio.
Maintain Responsible Vendor status for alcohol and tobacco purchases by checking proper identification for age verification while operating POS, wine taps, or tasting tables.
Train, coach, and direct Team Members while acting as Manager on Duty, promoting exceptional Guest service and compliance with store procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, Team Member areas, restrooms, and other customer-facing spaces.
Wrap ABC products, assemble custom gift baskets, and provide carryout service as needed.
Receive and manage weekly truck deliveries.
Merchandise and display products on shelves and in coolers according to Operational Guidelines, and restock from inventory as needed.
Maintain proficiency in AS400 handheld operations, including product inquiry, inventory management, ordering, scanning, receiving, beer, and item swaps.
Maintain proficiency in AS400 management profile operations, including store inventory inquiry, e-transfer inquiry, and cycle adjustments.
Perform additional duties assigned by store leadership.
