About The Position

The Shift Lead ensures that Dutch Bros’ vision, culture, and core values are upheld on every shift. This servant-leader role supports the crew, communicates feedback to shop leadership, and takes on operational responsibilities so Broistas can focus on delivering a positive customer experience. The Shift Lead leads the experience for Broistas on shift, helps maintain shop atmosphere and standards, addresses problems, and prepares the team for promotions and specials. They model the Broista role, train new Broistas operationally and culturally, and help set the next shift up for success through tasks such as counting tills, preparing bank deposits, restocking, putting away inventory, and meeting cleanliness standards. The role also supports the Shop Manager and Shop Lead with inventory, shop setup, cleanliness, and Quality Assurance follow-up. The role requires availability for at least 32 hours per week and a flexible, changing schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Full-time Shift Leads receive additional benefits. Compensation is $11.50 per hour in base pay plus average tips of $5.75 per hour; tip averages are not guaranteed and may vary.

Requirements

No disciplinary action during the past 90 days; disciplinary action is defined as a coaching conversation resulting in formal documentation with signatures.
Successfully complete the most recent flowcheck with a score of at least 90% and complete it on time.
Obtain and maintain a Food Handler Permit or Certification as required by state and local regulations.
Complete, pass, and maintain mandatory certificates, training, and knowledge tests under Dutch Bros standards and applicable company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
Be available to work a minimum of 32 hours per week.
Be available for a flexible, changing schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Demonstrate all Broista Levels of Leadership expectations, including anchors and level-up arrows.
Communicate effectively with leaders and crew, demonstrate resilience and optimism, and maintain strong people skills and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

Uphold Dutch Bros’ vision, culture, and core values on every shift.
Communicate appropriate information and feedback to shop leadership, and communicate expectations to the crew.
Cultivate the Dutch Bros atmosphere and standards, help Broistas meet expectations, and help solve problems during shifts.
Manage shifts and ensure Broistas are prepared for specials and promotions with appropriate energy and attitude.
Model and meet all expectations of the Broista role.
Train new Broistas in operational and cultural expectations and cover the Manifesto during training.
Prepare the next shift for success by counting tills, making bank deposits, restocking products, putting inventory away, and meeting cleanliness standards.
Support the Shop Manager and Shop Lead with inventory management and other delegated duties.
Share wins and opportunities for improvement with shop leaders.
Attend mandatory meetings, know available resources, and follow company policies and procedures in the Shift Lead Field Guide and Employee Handbook.
Help ensure shop setup and cleanliness standards are met.
Work with the Shop Lead and Shop Manager on Quality Assurance inspection follow-up and accountability.
Be available for shift lead shifts, shop meetings, and culture-building events.
