About The Position
Maui Humane Society is Maui's open admission animal shelter and serves the whole community. The organization helps families keep their pets, reunites lost pets with their people, and moves animals in its care to new homes and partner organizations. Its work includes shelter care and shelter medicine, low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services for community pets, pet resources, humane education, and humane law enforcement. The Shelter Director is a new position at the center of the leadership team. The role owns every animal's path through the building, from intake to outcome and from daily care to capacity for care, encompassing animal care, pet resources, and Animal Care Pathways. The director sets standards, manages the shelter population to those standards, and leads the people responsible for delivering them.
Responsibilities

- Lead daily animal care and manage capacity for care.

- Set standards for shelter operations and ensure the animal population is managed to those standards.
- Lead the people responsible for delivering shelter services.
