About The Position

The Setup Technician performs a critical function in achieving On Time in Full deliveries and returns and maintaining high product quality for customers. The role involves setting up and knocking down temporary buildings, completing customer service and modification work, and documenting work through the Field Service Application. The technician maintains tools and equipment and builds effective relationships with internal and external customers. Duties may also include Branch Service Tech or Field Service Tech responsibilities as business needs dictate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Carpentry skills and familiarity with construction trades.
• Knowledge of computers.
• Good communication skills for working with customers, salespeople, contractors, shop personnel, and coworkers.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Current valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Set-up and knockdown experience.
• Experience with customer relationship management.
• Previous management experience or experience working with other trades.

Responsibilities

• Set up units, including anchoring, blocking and leveling, interior and exterior seaming, VAPS installation, and installing steps, canopies, and ramps.
• Install or remove skirting as required.
• Knock down buildings by building shipping walls, securing exterior walls, separating buildings, disconnecting utilities and mate-line crossovers, securing items for shipment, cleaning the site, and removing installations such as blocks, steps, anchors, ramps, ABS pads, and steel piers.
• Perform road service work on customer units, including electrical and plumbing work.
• Perform customer modifications.
• Complete Work Orders and Service Orders through the Field Service Application.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Perform duties pertaining to Branch Service Tech or Field Service Tech roles as business needs dictate.
• Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers at all organizational levels.
