About The Position

The Setup Technician performs a critical role in achieving on-time, in-full deliveries and returns, while supporting high product quality for customers. The role includes setting up and knocking down temporary buildings, completing service work and customer modifications, documenting work through field service applications, and maintaining tools and equipment. The technician may also perform duties associated with Branch Service Technician or Field Service Technician roles as business needs dictate. The position requires working independently in a fast-paced environment and maintaining positive relationships with customers and coworkers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Carpentry skills and familiarity with construction trades.
• Some computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills for working with customers, salespeople, contractors, shop personnel, and coworkers.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Current valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Set-up and knockdown experience preferred.
• Some experience with customer relationship management preferred.
• Previous management experience or experience working with other trades is a plus.
• Military experience is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Set up units, including anchoring, blocking and leveling, interior and exterior seaming, VAPS installation, and installation of steps, canopies, and ramps; install or remove skirting as needed.
• Knock down buildings by building shipping walls, securing exterior walls, separating buildings, disconnecting utilities and mate-line crossovers, securing items for shipment, cleaning the site, and removing installations such as blocks, steps, anchors, ramps, ABS pads, and steel piers.
• Perform service work on customer units in the field, including electrical and plumbing work.
• Complete customer modifications.
• Complete Work Orders and Service Orders using the Field Service Application.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Perform duties pertaining to Branch Service Technician or Field Service Technician roles when business needs dictate.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
