About The Position

The Setup Technician performs a critical function in achieving on-time, in-full deliveries and returns and supporting high product quality for customers. The role involves setting up and dismantling temporary buildings, completing service work and customer modifications, documenting work through a field service application, and maintaining tools and equipment. The technician may also perform duties associated with Branch Service Tech or Field Service Tech roles as business needs dictate. The position requires working independently in a fast-paced environment and building effective relationships with customers and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Carpentry skills and familiarity with construction trades.
• Knowledge of computers.
• Good communication skills for working with customers, salespeople, contractors, shop personnel, and coworkers.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Current valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Set-up and knockdown experience.
• Experience with customer relationship management.
• Previous management experience or experience working with other trades.

Responsibilities

• Set up units, including anchoring, blocking and leveling, interior and exterior seaming, VAPS installation, and installation of steps, canopies, and ramps.
• Install or remove skirting as required.
• Knock down buildings by building shipping walls, securing exterior walls, separating buildings, disconnecting utility and mate-line crossovers, securing items for shipment, cleaning the site, and removing installations such as blocks, steps, anchors, ramps, ABS pads, and steel piers.
• Perform electrical and plumbing service work on customer units in the field.
• Perform customer modifications.
• Complete Work Orders and Service Orders using the Field Service Application.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Perform duties associated with Branch Service Tech or Field Service Tech roles as business needs dictate.
• Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
