About The Position

The Setup Technician performs a critical function in achieving on-time, in-full deliveries and returns and supporting high product quality. The role involves setting up and taking down temporary buildings, completing service work and customer modifications, and documenting work through the Field Service Application. The technician maintains tools and equipment and builds effective relationships with customers and colleagues. Depending on business needs, the position may also include duties associated with Branch Service Technician or Field Service Technician roles.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Carpentry skills and familiarity with construction trades.
• Some computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills for dealing with customers, salespeople, contractors, shop personnel, and coworkers.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Current valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Set-up and knockdown experience.
• Some experience with customer relationship management.
• Previous management experience or experience working with other trades.

Responsibilities

• Set up units by anchoring, blocking and leveling, completing interior and exterior seaming, installing VAPS, and installing steps, canopies, and ramps.
• Install and remove skirting as needed.
• Knock down buildings by building shipping walls, securing exterior walls, separating buildings, disconnecting utility and mate-line crossovers, securing items for shipment, cleaning the site, and removing installations such as blocks, steps, anchors, ramps, ABS pads, and steel piers.
• Perform electrical and plumbing service work on customer units in the field.
• Perform customer modifications.
• Complete work orders and service orders using the Field Service Application.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Perform duties associated with Branch Service Technician or Field Service Technician roles as business needs dictate.
• Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers at all organizational levels.
