About The Position

The Setup Technician performs a critical role in achieving on-time, in-full deliveries and returns and maintaining high product quality for customers. The role includes setting up and knocking down modular buildings, performing service work and customer modifications, completing work orders, maintaining tools and equipment, and building relationships with internal and external customers. Depending on business needs, the technician may also perform duties associated with Branch Service Tech or Field Service Tech positions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Carpentry skills and familiarity with construction trades.
• Some computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers, salespeople, contractors, shop personnel, and coworkers.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Current valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Set-up and knockdown experience preferred.
• Some customer relationship management experience preferred.
• Previous management experience or experience working with other trades is a plus.
• Military experience is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Set up units, including anchoring, blocking and leveling, interior and exterior seaming, installing VAPS, steps, canopies, and ramps; installation or removal of skirting may also be required.
• Knock down buildings by building shipping walls, securing exterior walls, separating buildings, disconnecting utility and mate-line crossovers, securing items for shipment, cleaning the site, and removing installations such as blocks, steps, anchors, ramps, ABS pads, and steel piers.
• Perform road service work for customer units, including electrical and plumbing work.
• Complete customer modifications.
• Complete Work Orders and Service Orders using the Field Service Application.
• Maintain the proper working condition of tools and equipment used.
• Perform duties associated with Branch Service Tech or Field Service Tech roles when business needs dictate.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
