This course will involve students in the examination of the relationship between public policy and urban form. In a seminar/lecture format, students will engage with the range of plans, policies, guidelines, and practices that are the context for the processes that characterize contemporary city building. During the term, students will have opportunities to engage through: in-class lectures; directed reading and research; meetings with individuals involved in proposing and planning for development; attendance at public meetings; and individual or group seminar/presentations on relevant selected topics. The estimated course enrollment is 25 students, with no estimated TA support. The class schedule is Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in a room to be determined. The sessional dates of appointment are from January 1, 2027, to April 30, 2027.
