About The Position

The Department of Curriculum Studies in the College of Education and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for an Out-of-Scope Sessional Lecturer to teach community-based courses during the Winter 2027 Session. The courses are ECUR 163.3 (E12) Mathematical Content Knowledge for Teaching School Mathematics and ECUR 235.3 (E12) Michif Language Learning and Epistemology. Both courses will be offered as live, in-person lectures in Pinehouse, SK, from January 1, 2027, to April 30, 2027. The schedule will be determined in consultation with the successful applicant, with a general availability of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding evenings and weekends without special permission. The expected enrollment limit for each course is 35. A valid driver's license is required for any off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days for preparation and marking. Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Education or a related discipline and/or possession of relevant teaching or professional experience.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to engaging with Indigenous ways of knowing.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering respectful, reciprocal learning environments.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of indigenization and the decolonization of pedagogy.
  • Possess relevant language experience (for ECUR 235.3).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ECUR 163.3 (E12) Mathematical Content Knowledge for Teaching School Mathematics.

  • Determine actual days/times for courses in consultation with the program.
  • Engage with Indigenous ways of knowing.

  • Uplift and support Indigenous students.
  • Prepare for and mark course materials.
