About The Position

The Department of Management is seeking a Sessional Lecturer for the MGT442H5 Financial Distress & Insolvency course for the Fall 2026 academic term. This course explores the reasons behind financial distress in firms, alternative courses of action, and the roles of various stakeholders. It addresses the reality of business failure, citing Canadian government statistics on insolvencies. The course will be delivered on Mondays from 5-7pm.

Requirements

  • Superior teaching ability.
  • Suitable academic and/or professional qualifications.
  • Currency and mastery of the subject matter.
  • Clearly demonstrated teaching excellence in the subject matter through previous experience teaching the course in question, or very similar courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Significant experience in applying the subject matter in a practical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of course content, including lectures and/or seminars.
  • Creation of course ware.
  • Development and administration of assignments, tests, and examinations.
  • Marking and grading of student work and submission of grades.
  • Maintenance of reasonable hours of student contact outside of scheduled contact hours.
  • Supervision of the day-to-day work of any Sessional Instructional Assistants or Teaching Assistants assigned to the course.
