About The Position
This course explores the nature and organization of phonological systems (i.e. the sound structure of languages) with practical work in analysis. The mode of instruction is expected to be in person.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related field
- Mastery of subject material (phonological analysis from a theoretical linguistic perspective)
- Background in theoretical linguistics
- Demonstrated excellence and experience teaching university-level Linguistics courses
Nice To Haves
- Ongoing linguistic research related to the subject area
- Experience teaching the same, or a similar, course in Linguistics
- Qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III
Responsibilities
- Preparation and delivery of course content
- Out-of-class interactions with students via e-mail and office hours
- Development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests and exams
- Calculation and submission of grades
- Ordering all necessary readings
- Supervising TAs (if any) assigned to the course
