Sessional Lecturer - JLS472H1S - Child Language Disorders - Emergency Posting
About The Position
Students are introduced to the etiologies and characteristics of speech and language disorders in children, associated with autism, intellectual disabilities, and specific language impairment. Theoretical underpinnings of the major intervention approaches for children with speech and language disorders are discussed. The Sessional Lecturer position involves the normal duties related to the design, teaching, and timely administration of a university credit course, including but not restricted to (i) preparation and delivery of course content, (ii) development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams, (iii) calculation and submission of grades, (iv) holding regular office hours, (iv) supervision of TAs or Graders as required. The instructor is expected to be fully available for the duration of the employment period and be in geographical proximity to the University.
Requirements
- Solid background in speech-language pathology
- Mastery of the course material
- Ongoing research related to the course material
- Clinical experience in SLP
- Previous experience as an instructor in JLS courses
Nice To Haves
- A Master's or PhD in a relevant field is preferred
- Previous experience working with Teaching Assistants/Graders is desirable
- Excellent teaching evaluations as a Course Instructor in a JLS course is an asset
