Introduction to the physics of solids and their electronic properties. Topics include crystal structure and symmetry, X-ray and neutron diffraction, electronic band structure, lattice vibrations and phonons. The course is scheduled to run from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with an estimated enrollment of 20 students. The delivery method is currently in-person but may change. The salary will be paid for a half course, including vacation pay, with rates varying based on the Sessional Lecturer level.
