This course, FAH451H5S Curating Now: Turning Concepts into Curatorial Projects, focuses on students researching and developing a curatorial project proposal. This proposal can take various forms, such as an exhibition, a public installation, a public event, a performance, or a website. The course emphasizes the application of knowledge gained in FAH310H5 and the preparatory stages involved in mounting a curatorial project. Particular attention will be paid to conceptualization and methodology, with the understanding that curatorial practice is an intellectual endeavor that manifests ideas in form. Students will learn to transform a concept into a project proposal and develop innovative solutions for future curatorial challenges. The estimated course enrollment is 14 students, with no estimated TA support. The class schedule is Wednesdays from 9 am to 12 pm. The sessional dates of appointment are from January 11 to April 12, 2027.
