About The Position

The cement plant in Union Bridge, Maryland, is seeking a hardworking and dedicated Serviceman I to perform general laborer tasks and become part of the team. The position offers potential advancement into other roles within the organization. Responsibilities across assigned tasks include housekeeping; equipment and process field inspections and preventive maintenance duties; lubrication; troubleshooting; minor repairs and adjustments; use of various tools; operation of mobile equipment; and knowledge of environmental and safety rules and Plant equipment functionality.

Responsibilities

• Perform material handling activities as needed using overhead cranes, front-end loaders, and other mobile equipment.
• Locate, monitor, and perform field inspections on Plant equipment.
• Make minor mechanical repairs.
• Take necessary actions on Plant equipment as required by the supervisor, including reporting, operating, repairing, cleaning, feeding, and adjusting equipment.
• Assist maintenance department personnel as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and check lubrication systems.
• Perform work on the preheater tower as needed, including operating cardox, blasters, and air/water lances; cleaning ducts and vessels; and inspecting or troubleshooting equipment.
• Assist with laboratory product sampling and procedures.
• Perform housekeeping, lubrication, troubleshooting, minor repairs and adjustments, and other assigned tasks.
