About The Position

The Serviceman I performs general laborer tasks at the cement plant in Union Bridge, Maryland, with potential for advancement into other positions within the organization. Work includes housekeeping, field inspections and preventive maintenance duties, lubrication, troubleshooting, minor repairs and adjustments, and use of various tools and mobile equipment. The role requires knowledge of environmental and safety rules and Plant equipment functionality. The pay rate is $24.96.

Responsibilities

Perform material-handling activities using overhead cranes, front-end loaders, and other mobile equipment as needed.
Locate, monitor, and conduct field inspections of Plant equipment.
Make minor mechanical repairs.
Take actions as directed by a supervisor, including reporting on, operating, repairing, cleaning, feeding, or adjusting Plant equipment.
Assist maintenance department personnel as needed.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and check lubrication systems.
Perform work on the preheater tower, including operating cardox, blasters, and air/water lances; cleaning ducts and vessels; and inspecting or troubleshooting equipment.
Assist with laboratory product sampling and procedures.
Perform housekeeping, lubrication, troubleshooting, and minor equipment adjustments.
Follow environmental and safety rules and maintain knowledge of Plant equipment functionality.
