About The Position

NWS — FreshPure Water Systems is building a roster of Service Technicians in Woodstock, Illinois, to respond when water vending machines in retail stores need diagnosis or repair. This on-call, as-needed role is for someone with hands-on plumbing, electrical, and mechanical experience. No licensing is required. Technicians are dispatched to local retail locations and focus on completing repairs; NWS coordinates with the stores. Some repairs may require a follow-up visit. The position is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity paid at $55 per hour, with mileage and travel included in the rate. There is no fixed schedule or minimum number of hours, making it suitable as side income alongside other trade, maintenance, or repair work. Applicants complete a short application through the careers site. Interviews are conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with basic plumbing, including water lines, valves, fittings, and connections.
• Hands-on experience with basic electrical systems, including wiring, components, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair mechanical equipment.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• Smartphone with a camera.
• Availability for on-call dispatch in the local area.

Responsibilities

• Respond to on-call dispatches at retail store locations in the local area.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues on water vending equipment.
• Complete a service report with before-and-after photos at each visit.
• Communicate findings and repair status to the NWS home office.
