About The Position

The Service Technician performs basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer- and/or dealer-owned small agricultural and turf equipment. This position is intended for a technician who has learned basic skills and is continuing to develop the knowledge and experience needed to become a competent technician within the Hutson Service Business Model.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment and following Technical Manual procedures.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used to repair small agricultural and turf equipment.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and perform basic computer functions.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
• Detail oriented.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Valid DOT Medical Card required for road technicians.
• Forklift Certification.
• Respirator Certification.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on small agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
• Participate in required Service EDUCATE Training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Maintain the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Keep the work area clean and perform work neatly and orderly.
• Complete reports and forms required for work assignments.
• Account for time on a time card and materials used in assigned duties.
• Support management in pursuing corporate policies, plans, goals, and long-term objectives.
