About The Position

Ferrellgas is hiring a Service Technician Apprentice to learn the trade alongside experienced technicians. The apprentice will train in safe tank installation, equipment troubleshooting, and service-call handling. After completing the program, the employee may move into a full Service Technician role. Ferrellgas will help the employee obtain required licenses and endorsements at no cost.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements if not already obtained.
• Good driving record.
• Proficiency in speaking, writing, and understanding English.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
• Must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must sign and abide by the company’s reimbursement agreement.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of propane equipment for retail customers.
• Learn to load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to and from specified destinations.
• Assist with vehicle inspections and notify a supervisor about needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Operate a truck according to established safety procedures.
• Provide customer service during daily interactions by sharing service and safety information and answering inquiries.
• Train with team members who participate in the after-hours and weekend on-call rotation for emergency deliveries or responses, as needed.
• Once qualified, drive a Bobtail truck based on business needs and/or on-call rotation.
• Work on propane appliances under direct supervision when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
