About The Position

SPATCO is hiring an experienced service technician serving the Waycross, Georgia area. The technician advances customer service and SPATCO’s work in the petroleum industry, with updated training and certifications available to support career development. Technicians work alongside branch managers, dispatchers, other experienced technicians, and trainees, and may occasionally help a trainee complete training and certifications. The position does not follow a typical 8–5 schedule; hours may vary based on workload and customer needs. Work includes servicing petroleum fueling equipment and point-of-sale systems, installing and testing equipment, performing maintenance and repairs, and explaining technical issues to customers.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and good driving record.
At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining gasoline dispensing units, including dispenser hydraulics and submerged pump units.
Valid dispenser certification(s).
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Ability to travel locally each day.
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units, including Gilbarco, Dresser Wayne, Gasboy, and Bennett equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electronic point-of-sale systems, including VeriFone, Gilbarco, and NCR equipment.
Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs as required.
Perform scheduled repairs and preventive maintenance on fueling systems.
Communicate with customers and explain technical issues in a non-technical manner.
Work with branch managers, dispatchers, technicians, and trainees; occasionally assist trainees with training and certifications.
