About The Position

SPATCO is seeking an experienced Service Tech in the Tallahassee, Florida area. Technicians provide customer service and maintain petroleum equipment while working alongside branch managers, dispatchers, other experienced technicians, and trainees. Technicians receive updated training and certifications to support career advancement, and may occasionally help trainees complete their training and certifications. This position does not follow a typical 8–5 schedule; hours may vary based on workload and customer needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and good driving record.
At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining gasoline dispensing units, including dispenser hydraulics and submerged pump units.
Valid dispenser certification(s).
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Ability to travel locally each day.
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units, including Gilbarco, Dresser Wayne, Gasboy, and Bennett equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electronic point-of-sale systems, including VeriFone, Gilbarco, and NCR equipment.
Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and perform repairs as required.
Perform scheduled repairs and preventive maintenance on fueling systems.
Communicate with customers and explain technical issues in non-technical terms.
Work alongside branch managers, dispatchers, technicians, and trainees, and occasionally assist trainees with their training and certifications.
