Service Tech Trainee (TALLAHASSEE, FL AREA)
About The Position
SPATCO Energy Solutions is hiring an entry-level Service Tech Trainee to train and advance into a technician role. The trainee will learn to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on customers’ petroleum equipment and will be trained and certified. Attendance at training sessions, which may be outside the employee’s local area, is required; the company pays for training, lodging, and meals. The schedule may vary, with at least 40 hours per week and overtime. Most service calls take place during the day shift. After training, the employee will participate in an on-call rotation. The role involves daily local travel and work at locations such as retail gas stations, commercial sites, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs.
- Ability to travel locally each day.
- Ability to attend training sessions that may be outside the local area.
Responsibilities
- Complete petroleum service calls for customers at retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
- Complete service-call paperwork after each call.
- Communicate with the service dispatcher and manager.
- Explain technical issues to customers in non-technical terms.
- Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units and point-of-sale systems.
- Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
- Perform scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance on fueling systems.
- Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs as required.
