Service Tech Trainee (MIAMI, FL AREA )
About The Position
SPATCO Energy Solutions' Service Tech Trainee is an entry-level position providing on-the-job training to advance into a technician career. Trainees will be trained and certified to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on customers’ fueling equipment. Training sessions may take place outside the trainee’s home area; the company pays for training, lodging, and meals. Hours may vary, with at least 40 hours per week and overtime. Most calls are completed during the day shift. After training, technicians join an on-call rotation. The role involves daily local travel and working at customer sites such as retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Complete petroleum service calls for customers at retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
- Complete service call paperwork after each call.
- Communicate with the service dispatcher and manager.
- Explain technical issues to customers in a non-technical manner.
- Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units and point-of-sale systems.
- Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
- Perform scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance to fueling systems.
- Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and provide repairs as required.
